Finally, after years, I dare to show you my new 'official' self portrait! It took me a while to get in front of a camera again, instead of being the 'voyeur' in others lifes. The background is my comfort zone, which shows in all my activities. In photography as you've seen, in writing speeches for others, as a project manager behind the scenes and in advertising as well. I like to support others while they have to be in the spotlight, but personally I prefer 'darkness'. In the eighties I established my own advertising agency, called Impression. Working with professional photographers, I was inspired to take up my old camera and to follow a study in fashion photography. When finished this course, I decided never to use my knowledge in this field. It's boring and fake, there are no real people involved. To quote supermodel Naomi Campbell: "I trust pictures, but no pictures made in my world - because I know what goes on." So I started to shoot portraits and travel reports. My wish to inspire people resulted in writing and publishing books. It's a chain... There are a lot things in this world of which I don't have even a clue. But when it comes to creativity, I think I have some talents. "Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst", said Henri Cartier Bresson. I think I've reached this number, so it's time for a retrospective. From now on I promise only to take real pictures! Hopefully you will have a good time surfing my site.
